We are proud to present the first testimonial on our website, please take your time to read the story below.

REX JOHNSTON & BARBARA BENTLEY OF WALNUT CREEK, CALIFORNIA, WIN THE GOLDEN BEAR TROPHY FOR THE BEST OF SHOW WHITE WINE AT THE 2006 CALIFORNIA STATE FAIR WITH YAKIMA VALLEY VIOGNIER

The highest award a California amateur winemaker can aspire to win is a California State Fair Golden Bear trophy.  The 2006 California State Fair amateur winemaking competition was judged using exactly the same standards, scales, and system employed in judging the California State Fair Commercial Wine Competition.  Using these very strict guidelines, only three white wines out of over 600 total wine entries received a gold medal.  Cellar Craft International 2004 Yakima Valley Viognier, produced by Bentley Cellars, received one of them and went on to win the Golden Bear as the Best of Show White Wine.  This kit also won Bentley Cellars a gold medal at the 2006 Orange County Wine Society's amateur competition.  Similarly, this competition uses very high judging standards and extremely qualified judges.

Barbara Bentley was awarded the Cellar Craft International 2005 Yakima Valley Viognier kit for winning the Gold prize for her Elephant Heart Plum label in the 2004 Winemaker magazine's label competition.

Thank you Cellar Craft International, for helping us win our dream bear!!
